Advantages with respect to other solutions are:

• Significant reduction in contact resistance
• Pratical/easy assembly operations
• The possibility of using an insulated conductor

The photograph illustrates one of our own experiments, in which the behaviour of two terminals is compared. A terminal is connected to a bare conductor of 2 mm diameter and the other is connected to an enamelled wire conductor also with a 2 mm diameter; the conductors are supplied, ni series, with a current of 7A/mm2. At the ful working regime, the temperature reached by the two samples was almost identical.
